Athletes.org (AO) is the players association for college athletes. We empower our members by amplifying their voices, providing them with on-demand support for the key decisions in their lives, and maximizing their income at all negotiating tables within college athletics.
Position Overview
AO is looking for motivated, self-starting interns to join our Membership and Brand teams for Summer 2025.
This internship is an unpaid opportunity designed primarily for students seeking to gain practical experience and academic credit. Athletes.org will work directly with your academic institution to provide necessary documentation confirming internship completion for credit purposes. Applicants should confirm credit eligibility and requirements with their university prior to applying.

What You’ll Be Working On
Interns will be placed on either the Membership Team or Brand Team depending on your background, interest, and organizational need:
Membership Team
Our Membership Team connects directly with college athletes—building relationships, onboarding new members, and making sure athletes have access to the support and tools they need.
- You might:
- Help manage athlete outreach and engagement across email, social, and SMS.
- Assist in building onboarding flows and organizing athlete profiles in our database.
- Support the creation and distribution of written media, including bi-weekly newsletters and press releases.
- Contribute to athlete research and insights gathering.
- Assist with researching University Athletic Department structures and facilitate AO outreach.
- Communicate with AO Network providers and help with admin support.
Brand Team
AO’s Brand Team is the creative engine behind our voice, visual identity, and campaigns. This team makes sure AO shows up loud, proud, and clear across social and media.
- You might:
- Support content planning and calendar management for @athletesorg.
- Draft social copy, help edit graphics, and spot athlete highlights.
- Track relevant sports, research and cultural moments to jump in on trending conversations.
- Assist with campaign rollouts and day-to-day brand operations.
- Analyze content performance and provide recommendations that generate greater growth and engagement across platforms.
Qualifications
- Current undergraduate student eligible for internship credit through your institution (3 or 6 credits).
- Strong writing, communication, and organizational skills.
- Interested in sports, social media, community building, or advocacy.
- Self-motivated and comfortable working in a remote, fast-paced environment.
- Bonus: Current college athlete, Familiarity with Canva, Figma, Slack, Google Drive, Notion, or social tools.
- Seeking 1x Graphic Design focused intern and 1x Brand / Social Media intern at a minimum.
